The LITS responsible service of alcohol training program is a 5 hour, self-paced course, targeted at all liquor licensees, alcohol providers, and liquor industry employees. On satisfactory completion of the program a "statement of attainment" is issued to successful participants.

This course is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

WHY DO I NEED THIS PROGRAM?
The program provides basic training about responsible service of alcohol and the Liquor Act. Licensees, alcohol providers and their staff need this information to:
• Trade within the law
• Lower any risks of staff committing offences
• Provide a safe environment for patrons and staff
• Reduce the risks of legal liability for injury to persons or damage to property caused by irresponsible alcohol practices

WHAT DOES THIS PROGRAM CONTAIN?
The program contains:
• A Training CD
• A Guide to the Liquor Act
• Australian ID Checking Guide
• Pop Quiz questions
• Final Assessment

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?
The course addresses 4 areas namely
(i) RSA Legislation
(ii) Alcohol Abuse RSA
(iii) Implementing RSA
Strategies
(iv) The Outcomes from RSA.

IF I PURCHASE THE TRAINING CD DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
The course and assessment items must be completed for a ‘statement of attainment’ to be issued.

HOW DO I OBTAIN A STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT?
• Complete the course
• Complete the required assessments
• Send the final examination by email, post or fax to LITS.

The ‘statement of attainment’ will be issued to you once this is verified.

WHERE CAN I FIND A QUALIFIED WORKPLACE ASSESSOR?
LITS has qualified workplace assessors.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
The course is approximately 5 hours duration. As the course is self-paced, participants may take as long as they like to complete the course.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The LITS RSA CD is $95.00.

IS THE COURSE RECOGNISED IF I WISH TO DO FURTHER HOSPITALITY TRAINING?
Yes. The course is nationally recognised and meets the national competency standards for BFB09 and provides underpinning knowledge for other food and beverage modules.
